What is a Context Engine?
Your private, single-tenant workspace — what it is and who can see it.
A Context Engine is your own private workspace, running on a server set up for you. It's single-tenant, which means one engine serves exactly one person or one team — yours. It isn't shared with other customers, and nobody else's engine shares yours.
Your engine has everything it needs to run on its own: its own database, its own background processing, and its own web address with secure HTTPS.
Who set it up?
Your engine is hosted and operated by a partner using Relote Cloud — a platform built specifically for running Context Engines. The partner handles the technical side: keeping the engine updated, healthy, and backed up.
The important part: the partner operates your engine without reading what's inside it. The hosting platform is deliberately built so that day-to-day management — updates, health checks, backups — never gives the operator a way to read your content. The next few pages explain exactly how that works.
What you'll find here
This section answers the questions people ask most about a hosted engine:
- Where your data lives — which machine holds it, and who controls that.
- Is my content private? — what the operator can and can't see.
- Backups & recovery — how your data is protected against loss.
- Email from your engine — how messages get sent.
- Security overview — the short version of how it's all kept safe.
